Happy Birthday to My Favorite Brother!

Happy Birthday Robert!

Not only are you my favorite brother, you are the best brother I could ask for! I am so proud to be your sister and am very thankful that you are my brother.

I have so many great memories of growing up with you. My first memory of you was probably a painful one for you (and for Mom!) although I'm sure you don't remember it. I remember Mom crying because she accidentally poked you with a pin while changing your diaper. Luckily, you survived not only that but being a brother to three sisters!

Growing up I always felt safe with you around. I remember sleeping in your bed in Wyoming whenever I would get scared in the night. Mom and Dad didn't like this idea and told me not to do it. My compromise was sleeping in the empty space between your mattress and the wall on your bunkbed. :) I don't remember you ever complaining or telling me to stop bothering you. You were always fun to play with and never complained about being the only boy, even the day that we dressed you up as a girl (and Dad made sure that only happened once)! Of course, you also had an influence on us, remember catching horny toads?

There is a picture of you and me that I love- I wish I had it here so that I could post it. It is the picture of you and me sitting on the front porch of our West Jordan house on the first day of school one year. I was in 7th grade and had really bad hair :). I really remember that day and how I felt that you were a great friend. That is around the time I think of the discussion we had one day about how we were going to be cool from then on. I don't even remember how we determined we would become cool. :) I just remember being glad that you were not only my brother but also my friend.

As we grew older, we weren't always as close, but I have always loved you and felt that you loved me. I have always looked up to your skill at fixing things. I am so proud to share a last name with you and think it is great when you tell me you met someone that asked you if I were your sister. I know that you do a great job in your work. I think it is a big compliment when Steve (or anyone else) tells me that I have a lot in common with you.

Thanks for being such a great brother. I hope you are having a wonderful birthday! It is definitely a day to celebrate! I love you!

Christina,
Thank you for sharing such wonderful memories. I feel blessed to have my family celebrating this day with me. Thank you for your sweet comments and the love you have for me. It is also nice to have the friendship. I have always looked up to you and I find many traits in myself that have come from you as well as the rest of the family. I have found a great love for music that has come from many childhood memories. (excluding, the "Right Stuff" from the New Kids on The Block.)
I look forward to many more memories together.

I LOVE YOU!
